Immediately preceding the EATLP Congress, the DigiTax Centre at the University of Antwerp is hosting the 9th International Conference on Taxpayer Rights. Organized and convened by the Center for Taxpayer Rights, this annual conference connects experts from diverse disciplines including government, law, economics, psychology, anthropology, and sociology, to explore how taxpayer rights globally serve as a foundation for effective tax administration and a means to promote voluntary compliance with the tax laws.
The 2024 conference will be held from 4 June to 6 June 2024 and its theme is Toward a Digital Taxpayer Bill of Rights, focusing on the impact of digitalization on taxpayers’ rights to transparency, fair treatment, and human intervention, as well as on the tax agency and its workforce, tax advisors, legislation and legislators, and the judiciary.
